set the table

Time to try something new on my serger - a rolled hem!  It took no time at all - setting it up and reading my booklet to make sure I had the settings right was the hardest part.

Each napkin is 18" square which made four from one yard of fabric.  I used two different kinds of lighthouse fabrics, so I made a total of eight napkins.  That left a few lighthouse scraps to use on a centerpiece for the table.  Don't you love the salt and pepper shakers?!

My parents also get two placemats to match out of a simple red broadcloth.  Enjoy, mom & dad!

shower curtain

Looking for something to liven up your bathroom? This was a special request shower curtain for a customer - but after hanging it up to take pictures, I'm thinking I need a re-do of my own!
She has two boys, and LOVED the robot fabric. So we went with an orange background, and a bunch of large bold colored squares mingled in with the robot fabric. The lighting in my bathroom doesn't show it off well, but the squares are red, blue, lime green and black. It is such a nice bright burst of color!!

superheros x 6

I should have tried to get a better picture, but was eager to get these delivered & didn't get the camera & my son coordinated. Anyway - I made 6 superhero capes for a friend - a variety of colors that she chose. I did a neck strap with velcro for easy tugging - 2 of these are for twin 3 year old boys. She and I felt like it was the only option! ;)
If she sends pictures of the kids in them, I'll post them later.

A few more goodies for the craft show...

A children's apron - perfect for Christmas cookie & candy making!An apron for the adult cook of course!
Of course, we can't forget Thanksgiving either!
A Thanksgiving meal is a special one - why not prepare it with a prayerful heart?
I'll happily embroider the cook's name on any of the aprons!

And lastly... every baby needs a special bib for the special meal!

some more new stuff

Just wanted to share a couple new things I've been up to...

A hooded towel for a little boy named Zach. He's a sporty one - and a little ribbon on the side just helps make the design a little more interesting.
This shirt is for a dear Grammy. All 6 grandchildren's handprints have been traced, stitched, and their names embroidered.
A perfect summer road trip bag - ready for a few new toys, games, coloring books, and activities for that long car or plane ride. There is enough room at the top for a name to be embroidered, or a name can be appliqued in the middle of the car fabric.

A nursing cover - a little bit of boning at the top makes for a little "window" to peek at your little one.
The strap that holds it around your neck is made from matching ribbon and 2 D rings.

This shirt has a bright yellow lightning bolt on the front - and has been stitched about 1/4" from the edge so the edges will fray a little with additional wear and washings.
